1   First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people,

2   for kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

3   This [kind of praying] is good and acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,

4   who wishes all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth.

1Timothy 2:2

Lord, your Word clearly states to pray for those in authority. These are the men and women who steer our country, cities and towns like the prime minister, mayor and alderman. But we also can think of the head of police, the hospital director and those in charge of allowances. We pray and ask that they be guided by godly love, wisdom and truth. We ask Lord, let them come to the knowlegde of divine truth and steer their motives and inner heart. Let your Word be the plumb line by which they measure everything. We pray for righteousness and justice in every department and for Your will to be done here as it is in heaven! Remove evildoers and bring in those who love your Word, who love to pray and who want your will done here.

Lord, we desire to live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. That’s a promise we can count on if we intercede for our leaders! We pray this for The Hague. We pray for a godly mayor who is not ashamed of his or her faith either! Let peace return in our city council as there has been turmoil around some people. Let your kingdom be build here as we pray for specific topics and intercede on their behalf and their families. We, the people of God, understand our spiritual position and act accordingly by taking this seriously. It is the enemy who wages war against our leaders especially and seeks to infiltrate through them so we ask You for divine protection on their lives! Cover them through our prayers with a shield and angelic protection. We ask You in Jesus Name, amen.
