Dear Jesus, our Majesty,
We as Your people, thank You for Your divine power which has given us everything required for life and godliness through knowing You.
Jesus, You have called us by Your own glory and goodness. And through these, You have given us very great and precious promises so that we may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.
Jesus, we want to stand aligned with what Peter wrote to the early Christians. We take up our cross and make every effort to supplement our faith with goodness, with knowledge, with self-control, with endurance, with godliness, with brotherly affection and with love. We desire to possess these qualities in increasing measure to keep us from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of You. We do not want to be lacking these things and we do not want to be blind, shortsighted and forget that we have been cleansed from our past sins.
Have mercy on us, Your people, O Lord. Empower us to walk out our faith daily by the power of the Holy Spirit.
In Your precious name we pray, amen.
(A prayer based on 2 Peter 1:3-9)
