„And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”“
Isaiah 6:3-8 NIV
Our Father in heaven,
Holy, holy, holy are You, Lord Almighty. We exhault You, father God, we praise You and we bless Your Holy Name!
Lord Almighty, we invite You into the city of The Hague. We pray that Your presence in this city will be so strong that people start to see themselves as they really are, how unclean they are. And that they get to see You, the King, Lord Almighty who takes away their guilt and sin.
Bring us to a place where we are so broken, so humiliated and wretched that we cry out to You from the bottom of our heart.
Have mercy, oh God, and lead us to that place where we are poor in the Spirit so that the kingdom of Heaven will be ours (Matth. 5:3). Have mercy, Lord Almighty, and lead us to that place where we meet You to be transformed into a new creation, to become people whom You will send, as ambassadors of Christ (2. Cor 5:20).
In Jesus‘ precious Name we pray. Amen.
