“’Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?’ declares the Lord. ‘These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit and who tremble at my word’” (Isaiah 66:2).
Heavenly Father, you are the Almighty One, the everlasting God, the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. We give praise to Your Holy Name.
Oh Lord, who may ascend your mountain? Who may stand in Your holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god (Psalm 24:3-4 NIV)!
We pray, in the mighty Name of Jesus, that you may reveal to us if our hands and hearts are clean. Search us, oh God, and know our heart; test us and know our anxious thoughts; and see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in us, and lead us in the everlasting way. (Ps 139:23-24)
Make us humble and poor in spirit, trembling at Your Word (Is 66:2). Tear down our pride, oh God, for You resist the proud but give grace to the humble (James 4:6). Transform us into people who are not offended by others.
Post us as watchmen over this city, never being silent day or night. So that we may call on you, Lord, until you establish The Hague and make it a praise on the earth (Is. 62, 6-7).
In Jesus‘ Name we pray. Amen.
